Objective Our NA Quality Manager is the face of quality to our customers and credibly engages / resolves quality issues and pursues opportunities with multi-billion dollar Tier-1 auto suppliers and other customers across a range of industries. The Quality Manager utilizes exceptional results-oriented leadership skills to direct development and execution of client Electronics quality initiatives and culture. Ensures all employees and departments are aligned with the company’s quality vision and customer requirements; and ensures all engineering and manufacturing activities are in compliance with applicable customer, Company and industry standards. The Quality Manager develops, implements and manages strategic and tactical quality plans along with applicable policies and procedures that will assure all programs will meet and/or exceed internal and external customer quality needs and expectations. Essential Responsibilities Quality Strategy •Exemplify quality advocacy with our customers and suppliers by working directly with their quality teams to help them appreciate client’s dedication to their stated quality strategy •Exemplify quality advocacy internally at client and collaboratively lead with a positive focus and teamwork to achieve the goal of our quality strategy Quality Leadership •Improve overall business growth and profitability by reducing the negative cost of quality through a strong quality management system including audits, reporting, compliance, and preventative and corrective actions•Maintain/advance ISO 9001-2008 •Lead company successfully through ISO/TS 16949 certification/registration processes •Conduct scheduled Management Reviews coordinating departmental actions •Perform and manage internal audits. •Ensure quality traceability for all products and processes •Report and reduce cost of poor quality throughout operations•Scrap •Rework •Be Company champion for continuous improvement and problem solving Customer •Successfully oversee, prepare and submit customer Production Part Approval Packages (PPAP) working with engineering and manufacturing •Lead quality Engineering Reviews of new products for compliance and product validation •Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) efforts to ensure effective and efficient introduction of new products All Employees •Train and mentor company personnel on QMS objectives, requirements, and individual responsibilities •Communicate, train, and mentor the extended Quality Team •Lead and manage a Quality ‘dashboard’ that keeps entire production team focused on critical data •Incorporate 6 sigma concepts throughout operations that assure process quality Quality Team •Supervise a variety of positions in support of quality management initiatives. Positions may include, but are not limited to: Quality Group Manager[Customer & Warranty Lab](OEDC); Quality Group Manager[Customer & Supplier](OEDC); Quality Managers(OAZ, OEDS, OAU); Warranty Lab Supervisor; Quality Techs; Warranty Techs; Quality Lab Techs; Quality Engineers; Metrology Tech; APQP/PPAP Coordinator; Quality Coordinator/Administrator. •Manage all aspects of Quality operations (e.g. in-process, supplier quality and final inspection using electronic diagnostic/testing equipment such as: X-Ray (Electronix X130l-dig); Temperature Chambers (Thermotron); T-shock Chambers(Thermotron); DC power supplies; Spectrum Analyzer (Advent); Waveform Generator (Agilent); Universal Counter (HP); Digital Multimeter (Agilent); Network Analyzer (HP); Microscope; Hot Air Solder/De-solder Tool (Heat Gun) (Hako FR802); Solder/De-solder station documentation and reports) Hako 703) •Complete Advanced Quality Planning, PFMEA, FMEA, Control Plans, IMDS and quality related work instructions •Plan and coordinate analysis, inspection and test efforts to assure product and process quality •Utilize statistical process controls (SPC) for analyzing controls limits and trends Experience: •5+ years’ experience and demonstrated results supervising Quality Program Managers, Quality staff; and 10+ years’ managing customer/supplier/warranty quality systems in an automotive industry manufacturing operation •Demonstrated ability to engage credibly with quality managers and SQE’s from Tier-1 auto suppliers and other medium-to-large commercial customers •Expertise with Advanced Quality Planning, PFMEA, FMEA, Control Plans, IMDS and quality related work instructions •10+ years’ experience with high tech test & measurement devices •10+ years’ experience Internal Auditing and/or lead auditing Education: •Bachelor of Science – Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or related field Certifications: •CQE (highly preferred) Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: •Expertise with SPC, PPAP / ISIR, APQP, Procedure writing, Process Control Plans, 8D, 6S, Lean Manufacturing •Expertise with ISO 9001 / TS 16949 •High proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Email (Lotus Notes), and Quality related software. •Highly effective internal / external auditing skills •Highly effective/strong communication skills (oral and written) •Ability to work in a mullti-cultural environment Scope of Supervision: 25+ employees Travel Required: up to 25% Keywords: Automotive, Electronics, Quality Engineer, TS16949, ISO9001, Supplier, Customer, Metrology, Program, Warranty, Relay, Switch, multi plant responsibility
