0-5 years of experience is ideal Plastics experience would be nice this client will train, teach, mentor and develope the selected candidate Job Title: PROCESS ENGINEER GENERAL SUMMARY: Facilitate new process development and maintain and improve existing process. Design and plan each process step to include necessary fixtures, equipment, tools, and determine location of each. Assist in new process trials, develop new parameters, document trial parameters, select optimum materials, and provide pre-production samples according to Gantt chart deadlines. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: · Assist in launch of new products or processes to ensure that they meet project objectives for cost, quality, efficiency and timing. · Development and implement manufacturing methods that identify sources of waste and lead to improvements in product quality, process efficiency, customer satisfaction and employee safety. · Develop and implement equipment reliability procedures that improve process equipment reliability and effectiveness. · Train qualified personnel in appropriate process and troubleshooting methods. · Source and supervise implementation of fixtures, equipment and tools associated with the manufacturing process. · Working with production departments, determine factory floor layouts for equipment, inventory and related process fixturing. · Program, debug and prove out robotic processes for the molding, trim and finishing of plastic-based processes. · Supervise and train qualified personnel in the use of robots for the molding, trim and finishing of plastics based processes. · Assist in training of production personnel after definition of a new process to implement start up of new production. · Develop and initiate processes that support the maintenance of quality system objectives. · Schedule meetings with appropriate departments and create FMEA’s for all new programs according to APQP requirements. SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS: · Assist tooling engineers, plastic technicians, Manufacturing Engineers in respective essential job functions as required. · Participate in Improvement teams. · Attend seminars and training. EDUCATIONAL & KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: · BS or higher degree in the field of Engineering. · Zero ( 0 ) - Five (5) years experience in processing, evaluation and testing of plastics preferably reactive polymers (polyurethanes, DCPD, LFI or equivalent materials). · Robotic programming is a PLUS · FMEA, GD&T, statistical process control. · Must be able to perform basic math functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. This includes fractions, decimals, percentages, and basic algebra/geometry such as plotting straight lines and nonlinear equations. ·
