Project Engineer Job Description As a Project Engineer you are responsible for developing components, sub-assemblies and top level systems from a technical perspective to meet customer and internal design specifications, that allow assembly in a LEAN manufacturing environment. Itís your challenge to perform your tasks within the budget, against the agreed quality level and within the given time plan with a strong customer focus. In this position you operate in multidisciplinary project teams and work closely with the Product Engineers and Lead engineer. You report directly to the Project Engineering Manager. As a Project Engineer your main tasks and responsibilities are: -Perform technical risk analysis in consideration to specifications, using formal design engineering tools (DFMEA / GD&T / DFA / CAD / CAE / Design Reviews); -Ensure all technical responsible deliverables are met in compliance with customer and internal company product & project gateways; -Technical liaison for CAD Design Engineers and component suppliers; -Perform feasibility studies based on technical specifications; -Perform basic technical calculations and design reviews to verify the proposed design; -Specify the engineering activities to be able to build prototypes for roofs and their components based on initial design concepts; -Review and evaluate product designs concerning costs and manufacturability, taking the whole product lifecycle into consideration; -Plan and prepare activities within a product development lifecycle; -Coordinate engineering activities between internal customers and suppliers; -Manage quality and accessibility of technical project related product documentation; -Document technical issues as part of the Lessons Learned process; What do we expect from you? You have a finished degree in Mechanical Engineering / Automotive Engineering. Automotive experience is a plus but not always necessary. We do expect you to have knowledge of different manufacturing techniques and that you are familiar with CAD / CAE systems (CATIA / UG/ Abaqus). As a professional you have a service/customer oriented approach with good analytical and organizational skills. In your work you focus on results and you are able to manage your planning and set priorities. You bring good problem solving skills with a pragmatic and pro-active approach.
