Providing CAD support for Advanced Development projects as well as providing periodic design support for the Product Delivery group. Candidate will be responsible for the creation and modification of CAD assemblies, models, and prints of various plastic and sheet metal components using Pro-E Wildfire 4.0 software. Candidate must have working knowledge of Pro-E Wildfire 4.0, Windchill PDM Link, GD&T, and ASME Y14.5 Standards. The ability to perform tolerance stack ups and knowledge of plastic mold design is also a must. Candidate will coordinate work activities with many cross functional groups including: prototype activities through the Model Shop, Tooling Suppliers, Manufacturing Division, Industrial Design and Procurement. The potential candidate will need to be detail oriented, have a strong mechanical aptitude, be highly motivated and work well in a team environment. Some minor travel may be required. Convert ideas and concepts to 3D CAD models supporting Advanced Development and foundational work Develop and modify designs and drawings for mechanical or electrical components and subsystems Generate basic drawings in support of AD project reviews Establish component and sub assembly tolerances in accordance with manufacturing capabilities and design needs. Work with the model shop to create prototypes for developmental and testing purposes. Independently manage assigned tasks to meet time constraints Apply DFM/DFA concepts in developing designs Serve as a consultant to outside vendors Participate in design review activities Technical Diploma or Associates degree in Drafting & Design or related area of study (negotiable based on experience). 4 year degree would be a positive. 5+ years of drafting and or design experience in an appropriate field (negotiable based on education). Proficiency in Pro Engineer. Experience using the Microsoft Office Suite. Good written and verbal communication and presentation skills Team player and willingness to help others. A desire to learn, develop and grow in your career. Strong experience with plastic injection molding, sheet metal, and machined part design.
